He also says the names of favorite movies like Elmo and Jonah. It is almost like they are comfort words to him, and if he gets sad he goes through the list. In turn there is one movie that even the mention of it strikes fear and sadness. All you have to say is "Nemo" and he starts saying "sorry, sorry." I don't know if he wants me to apologize for saying such a naughty word, or if he is saying he's sorry.
One cute thing he said the other day was when hubby left to go to a movie. Bug was distraught and started crying. He then said, "elmo, jonah, daddy, car, no." There were other words in there, but he was communicating that he didn't want daddy to go. Every small step is a victory.
One other note, I took down the Christmas tree and decorations today. When Bug got home, his heart was broken. It took him a half hour to calm down. He kept saying, "tree, hurt," I took it as he was hurt that the tree was gone.
As a treat, here is a picture slideshow I made for our parents for Christmas. I did one for each of my kids, but here is Bug!
I love the little signs of progress! Thanks for sharing! Mason was devastated when Steven took down our tree today, too! Christmas is such a magical time of year.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry he was so heart broken over the tree! Almost makes you want to keep it up all year....almost..
ReplyDeleteHe is so stinkin cute. This post brings back so many memories, like finding out for myself about the whole "Nemo" thing. So funny!
ReplyDeleteHe looks and sounds like he is progressing so much since his preschool days. I'm so glad you have this blog!

ReplyDeleteIt was fun to see your adorable kids today. They grow so fast! I gave you wrong info about my blog. It's www.missgae.blogspot.com.
ReplyDeleteyou know, I wonder if a small tree to put up in his room that he could decorate for whatever season would appeal to him...My sister-in-law has a pine looking decorative tree that she does this for in her house and it is always fun to see how she decorates for the different seasons...
