Progress!

I feel so encouraged today!  I am hoping that this trend continues!  The bug has had 2 of his methyl B12 shots and I am already starting to see some of the same results as last time!

We started the shots on Sunday and he was so cute when he saw me pull the shots out.  He smiled and got really excited.  It sounds like a funny reaction, but I like to think it is because he remembers that they helped him feel calmer!  He did saw "owie" after the shot, but he was such a brave boy.

So far he has been a bit calmer, he has actually tried to use his spoon with his cereal (something we are continually working on.), and the biggest happened today!  Last year on the shots, while I would read with him, he would pay attention and repeat my words.  Since the shots have stopped, he wouldn't let me read to him.  Especially the special reading books that the school sends home.  Today I was attempting to read him the book and he didn't hit it out of my hands, and by the end, he started repeating some of the words!

I hope to see more of these little miracles!  I have been praying to be able to see clear signals that the shots are worth it.  With so many of the things we have tried it has been, "well I think he is a little better."  The success should always outweigh the sacrifice, and I want to be able to say without a doubt that this helps him if we are to continue with it.  I know that these aren't a cure, but just hopefully something that makes his life a little sweeter.

The big test will come on Sunday.  Last year while on the shots he was able to make it ALL the way through our 3 hour block and sit by himself in his primary class.  I was sitting next to him, but he was so calm and good!  Right now, we are lucky if he makes it through sharing time.

I will keep everyone posted!
