Adventure!

The Bug has been a busy guy as usual!
He is loving school and the first week of school we got the neatest phone call from his teacher.  She just wanted to call and tell me  how much his language had improved over the summer!  She said the improvement was remarkable!  I love good news phone calls!  It was good to hear that all of our work over the summer paid off, and a further confirmation that his B12 shots are working!

He has a part again in the Primary Program and so everyday I have been practicing it with him.  He is just repeating the line back to me, and I am not even sure he knows what he is saying, but it is so cute!  I am able to get him to repeat it when I am holding a desired item like a cookie.  When we were practicing yesterday, he said the last word without me telling him.  He is beginning to memorize it!  It is a good thing the program is on Sunday because I wouldn't want him saying "The Holy Ghost is a member of the Godhead." every time he wants something!

Also, a few weeks ago we had a few escaping adventures!  If you have seen us with the Bug you know that we have to keep a close eye on him at ALL times, and in public we have to be holding his hand.  I take him with me at the beginning of primary while we sing wiggle songs so my husband can take our little girl to nursery.  The Bug will sit content with the iphone all by himself, and it usually works great!  This particular week my friends baby was crying at the front of the room, so I picked him up and as soon as I did, the Bug knew I was distracted and off he went.  I really was  distracted when one of the new teachers who doesn't know my son says, "Um, your son just left."

I just said, "Oh no, he is really fast!"  And took out the door looking every direction.  Now, you think if you saw a child running away with no parent in sight you might try to stop him, but he was able to make it all the way around the building and outside before I caught him.  It must have been a pretty funny sight to see me running through the halls of the church!

Escape #2 happened again on a Sunday after church.  My husband was taking a nap, and I was making dinner.  I was making noodles that I had to sit and constantly stir for 7 minutes.  I thought "All the doors and windows are locked, his brother is with him, he will be fine".  I finished the noodles and thought it sounded quiet and proceeded to look for him.  I couldn't find the Bug anywhere!  I checked all the doors, they were all locked. "Where could he have gone?" I pondered, when I felt a cool breeze from a window in the family room.  The blinds were closed so I didn't notice the open window.  My husband was awake at this point, so I ran out the doors in my bare feet just praying that I could find him.  After what seemed like an eternity and other sweet neighbors trying to help, my husband called my cell phone and said he had been found.  He had walked into a new neighbors house, who didn't know him, but asked their neighbors who this little guy was.

We think his plan was to go in another house  2 doors down where his friend used to live because the night before he kept trying to take my husband over there saying "fishy, fishy."  That friend hasn't lived there for at  least 4 years!  When that door was locked he continued down the street until he found an open door!

The new neighbors were so nice, even though he broke something at their house!
My husband came home saying he felt so loved that so many  people were so kind and went out of their way to help us!  I sadly was not in the mood to see that, I was having a moment.  I was grateful, but embarrassed at the same time!  We still haven't been able to figure out how he opened the window with the special lock.  The only thing we can think is it wasn't screwed in all the way and he used his fingers to unscrew it!

I know I have said this before, but I know he is protected and watched over by angels.  Angels that are neighbors, friends, and family, and angels that we can't see.  I am grateful for all of the angels in our life that are there for our little angel.

  3. Our neighbor's grandson, six years old, got all the way to Nickelcade--1.5 miles away, before they found him! You are incredible to be so attentive 24/7. I'm glad the bug doesn't sleep walk!
